Treatment of 1st degree and initial 2nd degree lesions

Summary

Treatment of periodontal lesions in multirooted elements
G.Petti

Keywords: bi-trifurcation, root resection, plastic surgery on bifurcation.

This issue's "Dossier" focuses on one of the most important aspects of periodontics, namely the treatment of periodontal disease in the supporting tissue of the bi- and trifurcation area. Where such lesions exist, treatment should be designed not only to eliminate the periodontal pockets and replace the destroyed tissue, but to create a morphological situation that enables the patient to maintain a good level of oral hygiene.
